Description
Very interestingly the Bharat Mata Temple does not have a statue of Bharat Mata. Out here there is a relief map of the country carved in white marble brought from Makrana. The temple was constructed prior to independence and consequently even before the sad partition of the country, so the map that is kept here depicts undivided India. The plains, mountains and oceans are all marked with a lot of precision. Both with regards to the latitude as well as the longitude, the map is absolutely perfect in scale. Anyone is sure to be impressed on seeing it.
A unique sacred site in Varanasi which not dedicated to any god or goddess but to the human manifestation of the country, known as Bharat Mata (Mother India). Located in the campus of Kashi Vidhyapeeth, Bharat Mata Temple is counted amongst the most-visited places in Varanasi. Another unique fact about this renowned pilgrimage site in Varanasi is that the temple does not houses any idol of the presiding deity but a large map of India. The map is built out of white marble that was brought from Makrana. Along with that, the construction of the temple is also quite interesting. The entire structure of the temple is well-supported by five distinct pillars. These pillars signify the five elements of nature - Earth, Wind, Fire, Sky and Water. On the whole, this renowned temple in Varanasi is one of the best places to visit in Varanasi for those who are looking for some unique and enthralling experiences.
