Description

Arunachal Pradesh, state of India. It constitutes a mountainous area in the extreme northeastern part of the country and is bordered by the kingdom of Bhutan to the west, the Tibet Autonomous Region of China to the north, Myanmar (Burma) and the Indian state of Nagaland to the south and southeast, and the Indian state of Assam to the south and southwest. The capital is Itanagar.

Arunachal Pradesh, meaning “Land of the Rising Sun,” long has been a recognized region of the Indian subcontinent, receiving mention in such ancient Hindu literature as the Kalika-purana and the epic poems Mahabharata and Ramayana. Formerly known as the North East Frontier Agency (from the British colonial era), the area was part of Assam until it was made the Indian union territory of Arunachal Pradesh in 1972, and in 1987 it became an Indian state. The region, however, has been the subject of an ongoing sovereignty dispute between India and China. Area 32,333 square miles (83,743 square km). Pop. (2011) 1,382,611.

  • Day : 1 GUWAHATI AIRPORT/ RAILWAY STATION – GUWAHATI SIGHTSEEING

    Upon arrival at Guwahati airport / railway station receive transfer to your hotel. Afternoon/Evening visit Kamakhya Temple situated on Nilachal hill located around 08 kms west of Guwahati city, is one of the most venerated shaktipeeth in India. The temple is dedicated to goddess Kamakhya an incarnation of Sati. It is on Nilachal hill. (According to Shiva Purana, the yoni or creative organ of Sati fell when Vishnu, in a bid to save the world from the Shiva’s tandavanrittya or dance of destruction, cut her dead body into 51 pieces with his Suddarshan chakra. The worship placedeep inside the temple marks the sacred spot and is kept covered with red silken cloth).

  • Day : 2 GUWAHATI TO BOMDILA (ABOUT 364 KMS/ 10 HRS)

    After enjoying an early breakfast drive to Bomdila. Enroot visit Asia’s second largest Orchidarium at Tipi where one can have a quick look over 7500 orchids from a collection of about 300 species. On arrival at Bomdila, check in at your hotel.

  • Day : 3 BOMDILA TO TAWANG (ABOUT 185 KMS/ 06 HRS)

    After enjoying breakfast visit the Bomdila Monastery & stroll around the local market. After that drive to Tawang, en-route stop over at Sella Pass (13,700 ft) to enjoy the area. Arrive Tawang and transfer to your hotel. If time permits visit the local market area.

  • Day : 4 TAWANG SIGHTSEEING

    After enjoying breakfast at hotel enjoy local sightseeing around Tawang - The beautiful land of the Monpa tribes with the “GALDEN NAMGYEL LHATSE” Monestary. It is 400 years old (17th century)Tawang Monastery, which is the second largest monastery in the world after Potala Palace in Tibet. The building is about 113 feet longand 80 feet wide and houses valuable antiquities, books and manuscripts-handwritten and printed. Later visit Tawang War Memorial, a 40 foot high multi-hued memorial, has a structure constructed in stupa design. Dedicated to the martyrs of Sino-Indo War held in 1962, this memorial is nestled among beautiful peaks, which overlooks the Tawang-Chu valley. ‘The Land of Dawn-lit Mountains’ at 3500 mts gives you unparallel purity of nature. Rest of the day enjoy at leisure & stroll round the streets of the town.

  • Day : 5 TAWANG – DIRANG (ABOUT 123 KMS/ 05 HRS)

    After a delicious breakfast check out from hotel &drive to Dirang and check in at your hotel. After that enjoy sightseeing around Dirang.

  • Day : 6 DIRANG – BHALUKPONG (ABOUT 186 KMS – 06 HRS)

    After enjoying breakfast at hotel start drive straight to Bhalukpong. After reaching at Bhalukpong check in at your hotel.
